Clinical Guidelines VTE

American Society of Hematology VTE Guidelines

Blood Advances is proud to publish a major ASH initiative. In 2014, in response to long-standing member interest, ASH initiated an effort to develop evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for hematology that meet the highest standards of development, rigor and trustworthiness. Development of these guidelines, including systematic evidence review, was supported by the McMaster University GRADE Centre, a world leader in guideline development. With their partnership, ASH brought together ten panels of more than 100 thrombosis experts to review evidence and formulate more than 200 recommendations on venous thromboembolism (VTE). Introduced by Julie Panepinto and Menaka Pai these guidelines provide context, rationale, and support for management of these patients.
